Wednesday

Today’s agenda:

1.    Test replacement Monday

2.    Test#4- PROCESS PARAGRAPH

You will have an opportunity to do a replacement test if you wish. This

is the same sort of thing as the replacement quiz last month.

4 tests so far, including the one that we will do tonight.

If you want to replace one of those marks, you can do that on Monday.

I will give you a new topic to write a paragraph about.

Your replacement tests mark will replace the test that you chose

whether it is higher or lower. it is exactly the same deal as the

replacement quiz.

Replace Test#3 3/6 4/6

Monday Test 4/6

Replace Test#3 3/6 2.5/6

Monday Test 2.5/6

The replacement test is optional. If you don’t want to do it, then do

nothing.

If you are reasonably satisfied with your marks, then leave them as they are. This replacement is only for people who wish to try to imporve one of the scores.

Email me by tomorrow, Thursday, at 7PM if you want to replace one of your tests. I will try to get Test#4 back to you tonight.

adjective clauses

For EF34

who -people

that – things, animals

EF56

which – special things, unique things

who- person

My neighbour who is very tall drives a small car. adjective clause

that- thing, animal

Jun’s phone has a screen that is very hard to read. adj cl

Maria has a cat that sleeps all day and all night. adj cl

which – special things, unique things

SPECIAL THING

The ring that Jo’s grandmother gave her is very old.

The ring which Jo’s grandmother gave her is very old.

Using the word ‘which’ shows that it is special.

UNIQUE THING- only one of them

The Eiffel Tower that which is in Paris is made of iron.

Using the word ‘which’ shows that it is unique.

The Eiffel Tower, which is in Paris, is made of iron.

Because it is unique, we put commas around it.

EXAMPLES

Beijing, which is the capital of China, is a huge city.

Tokyo, which is the capital of Japan, is on the Pacific Ocean.

We go to school at South Hill Education Centre, which is in Vancouver.

Lions Gate Bridge, which goes from Stanley Park to North Vancouver, was built by a rich family, the Guinness family.

special – ‘which’

unique – ‘which’ and commas around it

‘who’ is for people, regular people or special people

‘which’ is only for things, not people even if they are special

Try some of your sentences in Chat in you want:
