NOUN CLAUSES – SV, acts like a noun

Noun clauses – use verbs – mind, brain-A. think, understand, know, feel, believe, remember, say, forget

understand + what

I understand what you mean.

I understand what your meaning is. overwritten, not authentic


understand + why

The little kid doesn’t understand why he can’t eat ice cream for breakfast.


know + why

Julia knows why SV.

Julia knows why I am late.

I don’t know why my daughter is mad at me today.

I don’t know why I’m so tired today.


say + what

Please clearly say what you mean.


believe + that

Junko believes that SV.

Junko believes that her teacher can help her with math.

Junko believes that she will get a good job when she finishes college. main clause + noun cl + adverb cl
