Verb Tenses

1. past tense 
- simple past 'decreased'
- past perfect 'had decreased' English speakers don't use it much. We substitute simple past

2. childrearing - raising children
reported - simple past
had reported - past perfect
reports - simple present

Father don't do as many household chores. habitual, usually

3. contaminated - polluted, not clean, dirty
will purchase
are going to purchase
will be purchasing

4. pneumonia - bacterial or viral disease in your lungs
remains - always

5. sent - simple past

6. will have
are going to have

My advice is to forget about past perfect.
