Incorporating quoted material into our sentences

Practice. Write a sentence. Incorporate a quoted word or two into your sentence.
Pass in for me to check.

e.g.
The nuns showed "no tolerance" to the children if they made mistakes.
The narrator felt "incredible pain" in his heart when he was went to the school.
The narrator built a "chrysalis of silence" around himself to protect his mind from the terrible things he was witnessing.
The narrator was confused why the God he was taught about in school didn't come down to ease the "cruelty and suffering" that the children were living through.

You can change a word by using [   ]  square brackets. You can change the word form but not the meaning. It makes the grammar fit.

The kids felt chilled by the nun's smile.
IS THIS OK? NO

The kids felt chilled cold/scared by the nun's smile.

The Aboriginal people have lived in Canada for about 12000-20000 years. They originally came from Africa Asia and crossed over the ice bridge over the Bering Strait.
