Example of a student paragraph:
Example 1
In the story “Roses Sing on New Snow” Maylin argued with the governor for a few reasons. He wanted to take this new dish of a new world that Maylin created, back to China, which he wouldn`t be able to create in the old. However, Maylin knew for sure that even if she gave him the recipe it was not going to work, and it was not going to be the same taste as her dish. Maylin believed that even if you work together every one`s work will be different than the other since everyone is different. In brief, Maylin was a wise person. Because of that, she convinced the governor with the way she was talking to him, and that amazing example she gave him, so the governor finally agreed with Maylin.

Example 2
Have you ever ruined a famous chef's recipe? The answer to this question will be in this story, “Roses Sing on New Snow”. In the story, when the governor said to bring the dish to the emperor in his country, Maylin argued with him despite the governor's threat to punish her father. Maylin gave him two reasons why the governor could not bring the dish to the emperor. One is that it is a New World dish and cannot be made in the Old World. That is, the properties of the ingredients are different. If the same ingredients are grown in different environments, they will have different flavors. For that reason, even if the recipe is the same, it cannot taste the same. The other reason may be the most important of all. Maylin said, “If you and I sat down with paper and brush and black ink, could we bring forth identical paintings?” What she meant is that the important thing for the taste of food is her own natural talent. That's probably why the governor couldn't make the same taste even though he cooked with the same ingredients as Maylin, the talented chef.

Excellent paragraph.
You start to develop a feel for what a paragraph should look like and sound like. The first few times can be tricky confusing. After you have written a dozen or so, you will be more able to bang out a decent paragraph answer.
We will try another paragraph soon based on a different story.
I will email you the story today or tomorrow.
