-a hit movie – popular movie, e.g. Titanic was a hit movie.

A very popular movie is called a blockbuster.

The Godfather was a blockbuster.

-a hit song- popular song e.g. “The Shape of You” is a hit Taylor Swift song.

-megahit- huge hit Adele’s song “Hello” was a megahit.
