Adverbs – modify verbs , often ‘ly’ words

quickly slowly “ The puppy eats his food quickly.” “The old man walks very slowly.”

well “Sarah speaks English very well. She doesn’t speak German very well.”


adverb clause:

because, when, if, after, before, since, until, whenever, even if, provided that, unless, as, so that, so…that, than, as…as

You should know how to do that both ways effortlessly.

- whenever – every time

The dog goes crazy whenever the phone rings.


- even if – possibility doesn’t affect the situation

-even though – definitely yes

My son is taller than me even though/even if he is only 14.
