Read my feedback comments online

PC- Wordpad, Mac -   built-in word processing program

More meaningful title of document

2.   Review of sentences

3.   Homework       Read CBC article I sent you earlier. Check your email. If you didn’t get it, let

me know.

Test #1- We will write an opinion paragraph on this general topic tomorrow.

When we do a test.

-regular class 11-12, or maybe a bit shorter

-give you the test, 45m deadline, e.g start 12:00, email me by 12:45

Yesterday was just to sort out the kinks, not for marks.

Emailed your bio

- Subject line: Name, Class, Time, Test

- I wrote a note “Thanks”. Could you see my note?

If yes, great. No problem.

If no, then you must turn on “Comments” in MSWord. “Show Markup” – “Comments”

Also, you can read the comments by opening your document online:

https://onlinedocumentviewer.com/Welcome/

We will use the email and comments all through the course.

Give your document a more meaningful title when you save it.

e.g. Name, Class, Time, Test

Test tomorrow – opinion paragraph, your opinion on a topic based on the CBC article

I will talk a little bit about paragraphs tomorrow. You have studied paragraphs in other classes, so you know what a paragraph is and how to write one.

opinion- what do you think? what are you ideas?

Review of sentences-

Sentences- important, write a variety of sentences, consistently, reliably

- basis of all my school, professional work – good writing

- personal, business

Being able to write well and clearly is a huge benefit.

Three kinds of sentences:

SIMPLE SENTENCE – one main clause, one independent clause, has a complete meaning by itself

subject + verb

SV It is a nice sunny day today.

SSV Yesterday and today were both beautiful.

SVV The kids played basketball and ran laps in the park.

SSSV Her sister, his mother, and my aunt all enjoy snowboarding.

SVVV The dog got up, ate his breakfast, and went back to bed.

S + V
