This is the Quarter 1 (Q1) Period 1 (P1) (9:15-11:30 noon) class for these courses:

I will cal you by your first name if you don’t mind.

By the way, if you have an English name that you prefer, let me know.

I can’t change it in my computer, but I will try hard to remember it.

I sent an email to you yesterday. If you received that email from me, than that means we can communicate via email. If you did not receive an email from me, that means I do not have your email in the computer system. We will have to fix that.

I asked you to respond to ahaley@vsb.bc.ca with your name and class in the subject line of your email. Many of you responded to the email as I requested.

IDIOM seamless- smooth, no problems , confusion

seam – where two pieces of cloth are sewed, joined, rough area, bumpy

seamless- not rough, smooth

 

Registering for this class was seamless. adjective

Taking the Skytrain using a credit card is seamless.

Raising teenagers is rarely seamless.

 

I’ll talk more about emails later.

Course dates: Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 - Friday, November 3rd, 2023 (Final day together)

 

Monday to Friday, 9:15-11:30

Our classes are two and a quarter hours long- 2 hr 15m.

Approx. 100 hours

We’ll take a 10-minute break around 10:20 to 10:30.

POSITIVE MEANING agenda – agenda for a business or school meeting (official, formal meeting)- list of topics to be dealt with in the meeting or class

POSSIBLE NEGATIVE MEANING -a person’s selfish agenda (what they want to do)- their plan, their goals, which may differ from everyone else’s goals

“She has an agenda about the kids’s soccer team. She is coaching so that her son will have more playtime.”
