This was the park in which we played soccer. VERY VERY FORMAL, like 'whom'

'Where' has to do with 'played'.

SHEC is the school that is on Fraser Street.

SHEC is the school where we study English.
SHEC is the school that we study English at/in.


You don't have to use 'where', but it is an option.
