Compound sentence – review
SV , SOBA SV.
subject verb,  SOBA subject verb.

Things to remember:
1. Put capital letters at the beginning of the sentences and for all proper nouns, including “I”.
2. Put periods or question marks at the ends of the sentences.
3. Put a comma before SOBA.
4. Use two subjects and two verbs in a compound sentence.

Ex.
cat and
The cute cat is for sale, and I want to buy it.

Stanley Park was very crowded yesterday, so we went home.

choice (n) “She made a choice to move to Canada.”
“You have a choice about which class you will take.”

alternative – (n) something else
“Tofu is good alternative to meat.”
“South Hill is an alternative school for some high school students.”


allergy, allergies (n)
“Ian has an allergy to peanuts.“
“Sarah’s children have many allergies.”
allergic (a)
“Ian is allergic to eggs.”

benefits (n)
Michelle’s new job has good benefits: medical, dental, etc.

a tradeoff (n) – some good, some bad
Homeschooling is tradeoff. It has benefits, and it has some drawback.

She has faced a lot of problems in her life.
I faced a lot of trouble in the past.

bonds (n) – emotional connection, relationship
bond (v)- to connect, to develop a close relationship
“The parents bonded with their new baby.”
“Sarah bonded with her friends over their love of dancing.”

bond – financial instrument, for investments
“Mr. Wong made a lot of money investing in stock and bonds.”
