just right now-not forever, sounds temporary

 

Jun lives in Vancouver. simple present- sounds permanent

She is living in Vancouver. present progressive- sounds temporary

I am living in Vancouver right now.

Do you live in Vancouver, or are you living in Vancouver?

 

I live in Vancouver now. I think I will stay in Vancouver.

 

Usefull subtle difference-

I am working in a restaurant. sounds temporary, survival job, not your permanent career

I work in hospitality. sounds permanent, your chosen career

hospitality- restaurant, hotel, cruise ship, tourism

 

This machine isn’t working. sounds temporary, can be fixed

The photocopier isn’t working. It isn't double-siding.

The wireless internet router isn’t working. Turn it off, and turn it back on.

The computer doesn’t work. It never works properly. sounds permanent

 

I am studying English. temporary
