·      Presentation Day- seven people

You will come to front of the class and talk to the class about a topic.

Wednesday

·      Presentation Day- seven people

·      Continue compound sentence

·      Continue practice- simple present, past and future

·      Finish- Word List 1.4

 

 

Thursday

·      Return Test#4

Rewrite for Bonus point

·      Presentation Day- seven people

·      Midterm recommendations-

I will meet with each person individually in the hallway.

We will chat about what you want to do next quarter.

We will look at your marks: Tests and spoken in-class.

The cut-off for early registration is 65%.

We want the stongest students to register first.

The other students can register after a week or so.

The final passmark is 50%.

Lined ruled paper.

Prepare your written material.

Prepare enough written material for 2-3 minutes.

Don’t memorize your writing. That is not natural speaking.

Review of simple present, simple past, and simple future

 

These are the verb tenses that we have been working on.

 

-simple present- daily routine, habitual action

-simple past- one event in the past, finished

-simple future- one event in the future, has not happened yet

 

-simple present

She buys coffee at the supermarket every week.

 

-simple past

She bought coffee at the supermarket last week.

 

-simple future

She will buy coffee at the supermarket next week.

She is going to buy coffee at the supermarket next week.

1.    jumped – simple past

2.    will sing / is going to sing – simple future

3.    runs – simple present ‘always’- good word for simple present

4.    will leave / are going to leave – simple future

5.    sits- simple present ‘every day’- good words for simple present
