There are two ways to do it:

Sarah likes to travel.

Sarah likes travelling.

to travel OR travelling

 

 

simple past tense- liked

I liked to play with my cousins when I was little.

I liked playing with my cousins when I was little.

 

simple present tense- I like to drink Chinese tea.

                                         I like drinking Chinese tea.

 

simple past tense-       I liked to drink Chinese tea.

                                         I liked drinking Chinese tea.

 

‘to drink’ and ‘drinking’ does not change.

‘like’ or ‘liked’ changes

 

I liked to be a nurse in Syria

I liked being a nurse in Syria.

I like being a teacher.

I like to be a parent.

I like being a doctor.

I like cooking. I like to cook.
