Oral Presentation: A Person in My Life Who I
Admire
Who is a person in your life who you admire?
Choose one person. It can be anyone: older, younger, a sibling, parent, relative,
friend, community member, etc. It must be somebody that you know personally.
This week, you will put together a short
presentation about the person. There will be two main parts to this project:
WRITTEN (6 points)
A couple of
paragraphs.
-Writing describing who they are. Write a brief
biography for them. What is their name, age, etc? Give their background. Some
details of their biography. Explain who they are.
-Writing explaining why you admire them. What
characteristics do they have that you admire? What do they do that you admire?
You will give me the writing the day before
you do your presentation.
SPOKEN (2-3 minutes) (4 points)
On the presentation days, you will tell the
class about this person and why you admire them. You will come to the front of
the class and talk to us. You can take a few written notes in case you forget
something. However, no reading, please.
Here are some possible topics to focus
on:
Their life story
Their personality traits
Things they have said
Their greatest achievements
Their effect on other people
When you met this person
Why you admire them
If you’d like to be like them or not
We will
start getting ideas together starting tomorrow. We will take some time in the
next few classes to organize, write, and polish.
