“Work Hours”

full-time-  40 hours a week, eight hours a day

part-time- less than 40 hours a week

overtime – more than 40 hours a week,

When you work overtime, you might get doubletime or time and a half.

 

doubletime- twice your normal wage  $17 an hour- $34 an hour

time and a half- 1.5 times your normal wage $17 an hour- $25.50 an hour

Minimum wage in BC as of June 1, 2023 is $16.75 an hour.

 

40 hours a week, 50 weeks a year = $33,500 per year, $2791.66 per month

 

The average cost of living in Vancouver is $4,073 per month for a single person who rents.
