“Descriptive Adjectives”

adjective- describes a noun

noun – person, place, thing, idea

 

a big dog  adjective noun

Adjectives with one or two syllables:

Examples.

Mei is a young woman.

Mei is younger than her sister.  AAAer than-  compare two things

Mei is the youngest child in her family. AAAest- comparing three or more things

Superlative adjectives use ‘the’

Tehran is the most populous/populated city in Iran.

Tehran has the highest population of any city in Iran.

Aconcagua is a high/tall mountain.

Aconcagua is the highest / tallest mountain in South America.

Mt. Everest is a very tall mountain in Nepal.

Mt. Everest is taller than Aconcagua.

Mt. Everest is the tallest mountain in the world.
