Voices

active voice- the subject does the verb

passive voice- the subject does not do the verb

 

ACTIVE

Marie hugged her son.

She drove the car.

PASSIVE

The son was hugged by Marie.

The car was driven by her.

 

In general, stick to active voice as much as possible.

Active sounds strong and confident.

Passive voice sounds weak and sniveling.

Practice- a bit challenging

Choose a verb. Right some sentences using different verb tenses. You have to do them all. Choose a few. Chose a couple easy verb tenses. Then choose a couple harder tenses.
