These are high frequency words for adverb clauses:

-before
“I was a business owner before I came to Canada.”
“Before I came to Canada, I was a business owner.”
You should do these both ways. Mix it up.

while / when – not a big difference. It you get it wrong, everybody will still get your meaning.
