Most people know how to attach documents. If you don’t know how to attach documents, you have to teach yourself how to do it.

Transitional words and phrases, (grammar term: conjunctive adverb)
* therefore
Consequence
accordingly, as a result, consequently, for this reason, for this purpose, hence, otherwise, subsequently, therefore, thus
“Sarah wants to go to Langara; therefore, she is finishing her Grade 12 math.”
“Sarah wants to go to Langara; for this reason, she is finishing her Grade 12 math.”


* however
“Michelle is learning how to play piano; however, Dave is learning how to play violin.”
“Michelle is learning how to play piano; in contrast, Dave is learning how to play violin.”

* consequently – therefore
“Joanne works very hard in her company; consequently, her boss made her the manager.”

* likewise – two similar actions or states
“Canada has an elected House of Commons; likewise, the US has an elected House of Representatives.”

* meanwhile – two actions happening at the same time
“You are watching this English class on Zoom; meanwhile, your kids are playing with knives in the kitchen setting the kitchen on fire.”
“Janet is working on the project that her boss gave her; meanwhile, Jin is talking with the customer in Hong Kong.”

* nevertheless – A & B, B is not affected by A
A – Junko finds English hard. It is difficult for her.
B – She works at it everyday. She doesn’t quit.
“Junko finds English hard; nevertheless, she works at it everyday.”

Top quality writing- learn to write like this.
This is what I teach.

* unfortunately – something bad happened or will happen
“I am going to have a picnic tomorrow in the park; unfortunately, it is supposed to rain tomorrow.”

* fortunately – something good happened or will happen
“I am going to have a picnic tomorrow in the park; unfortunately, it is supposed to rain tomorrow. Fortunately, I have a big canopy that we all can stay under.” 

* undoubtedly – without question, obviously
“The young woman has seven cats and 15 dogs; undoubtedly, she loves animals.”
“The little boys eyes were red and watery; obviously, he was very upset and crying about something.”
