When I lived in Japan, we felt a lot of tremors.

 

Earthquakes are measured on the Richter Scale.

In Vancouver, tap is potable. You can drink it safely.

potable- safe to drink

In many countries, tap water is not potable. You have to boil it before you drink it or cook with it.

e.g wheat, rice, barley, blueberries, apples, potatoes, beets, onions, bakchoi, carrots

Writing a Paragraph (This was homework)

 

Title: My Favourite …

 

Topic sentence- first sentence in a paragraph usually

-         introduces the main idea of the paragraph

-         the reader will know what the paragraph is about

Body - the sentences that explain, give examples, describe, teach

Concluding sentence- a sentence to finish the paragraph, to wrap up the paragraph

(about 80-100 words)

Task 1 Choice one of your favourite things.

Task 2 Write the topic sentence

Task 3 Write the body sentences(5-6 sentences).

Task 4 Write the concluding sentence.

 

We will read them out loud. We will all listen.
