EF56 Class 10 - career presentations

·      Career presentations

You will need 26 feedback forms each for the presentations. You will use them to give feedback to your classmates. Count them and keep them.

·      “Advice on Public Speaking”

·      HW  

 

Wednesday

·      Finish presentations

·      Finish compound sentences

Quiz Thursday on compound sentences, choose vocab and trans words together

·      Begin complex sentences- adverb clauses

·      Finish career presentations, if necessary

·      Begin UDHR module

·      HW   Read through Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)

articles for tomorrow. Chose one UDHR article

Email a few sentences with adverb clauses to me by 5

 

Thursday

·      Quiz#3 – compound sentences

·      Continue adverb clauses

·      Continue UDHR module

·      Review structure and format of paragraphs

·      Return Quiz#3, go over

It’s very normal to feel nervous about talking to a group.

Everybody is scared of speaking in public.

#1 fear of most people is public speaking

If you feel nervous, you are in good company.

 

autonomic responses – body responses, we can’t control them

-                      nervousness

-                      upset stomach

-                      butterflies in your stomach

-                      jitters, shaky hands

-                      sweating

-                      clammy hands

-                      vision blurred

-                      tunnel vision

-                      voice cracks

-                      have to go to the bathroom

-                      red face, blush

-                      mind goes blank

 

We are all in the same boat here.

 

 Tips for Public Speaking

 

1. Deaf grandmother- speak up

2. Good dog- energetic tone, animated

3. Magic eye – eye contact

 

EXTRA TIP – mic usage, proximity to your mouth
