EF6 8:30 Feb9

 TODAY’S WORK

All quizzes, tests, essays

- timed, deadline will be posted

e.g. “Email me the test by 10:30am.”

I will not accept late work.

If you need a lot of flexibility with time, self-paced courses may be a better choice for you.

EXAMPLE QUIZ:

Quiz#1

Write a sentence for each of the vocabulary words.

Email it to me by 10:30am.

1. dog

2. cat

3. mouse

4. fish

5. squirrel

6. horse

- test or quiz must be in an attachment

readable by Microsoft Word

Files like this: .doc .txt .rtf

Do you know what this means?

Do you have Microsoft Word? (part of Microsoft Office)

If you have Microsoft Word, use that.

If you don’t have MSWord, you can use WordPad on Windows PC.

For Apple computers, you can use Textedit.

Googledocs can be made to work. Save the file on your computer and attach it to your email to me. Don’t share the document with me; I can’t read that.

MSWord or Wordpad (Windows) or Textedit (Apple) or Googledocs.

Save your file on your computer.

ADVICE: Create a folder just for EF6 so your files stay organized.

Attach the file to your email.

In the Subject line of your email, you must put your name, class, time and quiz or test number.

For example: “Joe Chen, EF6, 8:30, Practice test”

Your class will be either EF6 or Wr567

Do you know which class you’re in? If you don’t know, I will tell you.

I need that information. If you do not put this information in the Subject line of your email, I will not know who you are or what class you are in. I will not be able to mark your work or record a mark for you.

Also, you should title your quiz or test with the same information. Then I have a record of your quiz or test if we ever have to go back to review it.

Name the file:

Name, Class, Time, Quiz or Test #

e.g. “SarahChenEF58:30Quiz1”

It is not necessary to write any note, “Hello. How are you? How’s your mother?”

I will receive the email and then mark it.

Then I will email it back to you.

Then you can read my comments on your writing.

We will practice doing this in a few minutes.

Subject line:

email protocols- appropriate email address, subject line, attachment

“Name, Class, Time, Assessment”

e.g. “Maria Gonzales, EF5, 8:30, Quiz 1”

We will practice this today and tomorrow.

HW Send me a test email now.

ahaley@vsb.bc.ca

Subject Line: “Full name, Wr567, 8:30, Practice email”

Attach a document with this text:

“This is a test. Can you read my sentences?”

I will respond with a comment.

If you can read my comment, then everything is fine.

If it doesn’t work or if you can’t read my comment, then we can try something else. We figure it out today and tomorrow.

When you send you email and get my response and can read my comment, then you are finished for today. See you tomorrow. Read over “Simple Sentence” for homework.
