EF34 11:00 Feb10

 Good morning.

This is our 3/4 class.

We will get started at 11:00.

For new students today, go to my class blog to see what we have been doing the past two days: haleyshec.blogpsot.com

Write that down! It’s important.

Today’s agenda:

1. Review email and attachment work

2. Reading my comment in your document

3. Review sentence types

4. Begin simple sentences

Today’s picture is of the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia.

Emails and attachments-

Yesterday you sent me an email with an attachment. I read the attachment and put a comment on the attachment.

REVIEW

1. Write your quizzes and tests using a word processing program like Word or Wordpad or Textedit.

2. Save your quiz or test file on your computer. This file will be the attachment.

3. When you save your file, give your file a meaningful name.

e.g. Don’t name it “Document 15”

Name it “Your name, class, time, Quiz#”

“Joe Chen, EF3, 11:00, Quiz2”

4. Attach your quiz or test file to your email.

5. In the subject line of the email, write “Your name, time, class, Quiz#”

6. Send the email.

7. I will get your email a few seconds later.

8. I will read your writing and make comments.

9. Then I will return your quiz or test to you by email.

10. You can open the file and read my comments.

Could you read my comment from yesterday?

If you can read my comment, everything is ok.

If you can’t read my comment, we will figure that out today.

Open up that attachment that I returned to you by email and check if you can read it.

**

Some students are still having trouble seeing my comment on their writing.

I use Microsoft Word to mark your writing and provide comments.

Microsoft Word is the software that Vancouver School Board provides to teachers. If you have MSWord, you should be able to view my comments on your writing.

Go to Review – All Markup

Show Markup - Comments.

If you do not have MSWord, you may be able to view my comments on your writing using an online viewer.

I found this one: https://onlinedocumentviewer.com/Viewer/

HOMEWORK: Your homework is to figure this out if it is still a problem. Let me know if you are having trouble.

It’s a little tricky at first, but we will get it.
