Midterm recommendations are interim recommendations. We have four weeks left in this course. There will be a lot of opportunity to improve our marks.
The passmark for courses in BC is 50%.
Bring your marks up to at least 50%.
A student with marks in the low to mid 50s should consider not going on to English 10 yet.

I am evaluating your writing on an EF5/6 level. Next term, you could potentially be going to English 10.

The focus of the writing is sentences: simple, compound, complex.
The other focus of the writing is paragraph structure and content.

When we write, we are bringing together two very different skills: sentences and paragraph structure.

We will keep working to get better at that. It’s hard, but we can do it.

Plagiarism means copying from the internet and passing it in, saying that you wrote it.

When I catch it, you get a 0 on the test, and I write a letter for your permanent file.
If it happens twice, I won’t want you in my class anymore.

Let’s do the hard work that we have to do. I will help you as much as I can.

There has to be a balance between speaking and writing.

I’m sure you must feel frustration.

I feel a lot of frustration with playing musical instruments.
My solution is to practice carefully every day.
