I was scheduled to teach English Foundations 5, Period 1 in the summer. 8:30-12. Room 202.

That has been changed. My principal, Hollie, had to change some classes around.

My new schedule is English Foundations 4, Period 1 in the summer. 8:30-12, Room 202.

·      “100 Most Used Adjectives Adverbs and Prepositions”

·      “Making a Dinner Reservation” dialogues

Marks day

I will not teach on the final day. I have to finish all of your marks, report cards, etc.

On the final day, I can meet with each person to discuss your progress and final marks.

COMPLEX- ADVERB CLAUSES

5 because            late

I don’t want to be late because I am a punctual person. SIMPLE PRESENT

My son couldn’t go to school today because he woke up late. SIMPLE PAST

punctual(adj)- on time, not late, arrives on time

Maria is always punctual.

Joe is often tardy.

tardy(adj)- late

 

He arrived in time.  in time- almost late, but not late

He arrived on time.  in time- not late

He arrived ten minutes early.

You should always arrive 15 minutes early for a job interview.

 

Today I leave left my wallet on the bus because I arrived late.

“Phrasal verbs 2”

1.looks after / take cares of/ minds  I mind the children in the day.

2. gets on  / gets along – has a good relationship

Jun and Shira get along well.  get- verb  along-preposition

He doesn’t get along with his sister-in-law.

3.stop – give up   He will give up smoking.  give- verb  up-preposition

quit, stop, decided to not continue

She gave up her job as a professional ballet dancer when she was 50.

4. carry on – keep going, continue

Carry on with what you were doing.

5.extinguish – put out   He put out a fire in the kitchen.

He put out his cigarette on the ground.

 

put off- delay, postpone  She put off her birthday party because it was raining.
