*NOTE: You need the comma. Remember to use a comma before SOBA.

These are the details of punctuation.

 

Using SOBA will change your meaning/intention. so or but and

e.g

He said yes, and she said no.

He said yes, but she said no. -showing difference, contrast maybe conflict

He said yes, so she said no. -suggest conflict, disagreement, ongoing issues

-same meaning, different styles/structures/types of sentences-

You have choice. You want a nice mix of sentence in your speaking and writing.

Discuss vocabulary from “Families”

 

-large extended families- big families, lots of kids, cousins, relatives

 

-nuclear family, immediate family- parents and children

-extended family- grabdparents, uncles, aunts, cousins

 

-blended family- two families joined together to make one

-generation gap- conflict, lack of understanding between older people and younger people

-emphasize- stress a point, make somehting very clear and obvious, insist

I emphasize to you that speaking out loud is critical to learning a language.
