EF12 Class 26- Review of sentences, Using 'when'

SIMPLE PRESENT          She drinks eight glasses of water every day.

SIMPLE PAST                 She only drank six glasses of water yesterday.

SIMPLE FUTURE           She will drink eight glasses of water tomorrow.

SIMPLE PROGRESSIVE She is drinking some water now.

 

These four verb tenses are enough for most everyday English.

These are the basics. These are the most important verb tenses in my opinion.

 

 

won’t = will not    contraction ‘ apostrophe wont

They will go to the beach tomorrow.

They will not go to the beach tomorrow.

They won’t go to the beach tomorrow.

COMPOUND     SV, SOBA SV.    SOBA  , so   , or   , but   , and

COMPLEX

Two ways to use ‘because’

1.    because SV

I like gardening because I like flowers very much.

I can’t touch animals because I have allergies.

I am very tired because I didn’t sleep last night.

My country is rich because it has a lot of oil.

Jun’s family is rich because they work hard.

 

2.    because of NOUN

I stay home because of the cold.

I was late because of traffic.

My county is rich because of its history.

Her country is rich because of oil.

She doesn’t like winter because of the cold.

Jun’s family is rich because of they work hard.

I left my job because of the time/hours/shifts.

 

shift- how many hours you are working.

She has a six-hour shift today.

Everyone is happy when we take a break.

 

Two ways to write it:

A.   I take a shower when I finish work.

B.    When I finish work, I take a shower.

 

  We‘ll do more tomorrow.

The dog drinks water when it/she/he is thirsty.

We go to the beach when it is sunny and hot.

Dan goes to bed when he is sleepy.

Moe was happy when he found money on the ground.

They like to travel when it is summertime.

Donna gets nervous when she has a test.
