Idioms
hit the roof - get very angry "His mother hit the roof when she saw the mess in the kitchen."
hit the hay - go to bed/sleep "I'm tired; I'm going to hit the hay early tonight."
hit the sack - go to bed/sleep "It's 10 o'clock, time to hit the sack."
hit the books - study hard "I have a math test, so I have to hit the books tonight."
