          Life on the farm after the rebellion was much better for the animals.  First of all, with Mr Jones and the other farmhands gone, the animals were able to take over leadership of the farm for themselves.  In fact, the animals were very excited that the farm was now “all their own” (14) after they got rid of the humans.  Secondly, the animals felt united under the tenets of Animalism.  They agreed that “[a]ll animals are equal” (15) and that they should treat each other with respect, even the rats and rabbits.  After that, they enjoyed many new freedoms; for example, they no longer had to wear chains, harnesses or rings.  Also, they got Sundays off, which the animals had never had before.  Most importantly, no animals would be slaughtered by others.  All in all, the rebellion brought them a new sense of ownership, comradeship and liberty.
