New dialogue “Interviewing for a Job”

Let’s get into small groups and practice the dialogue. We can perform the dialogues in a few minutes.

The interview was stressful for me.

I was stressed at first. Then my stress level went down.

MY ADVICE: The more interviews you do, the more relaxed you feel. If you are very nervous about job interviews, don’t avoid them. Do as many job interviews as you can. They are good practice.

It’s just an interview. It’s not the end of the world.

Practice is the key.

 

Vocab

1.personnel director- manager, HR (human resources)

personal(adj) – private, not public

personnel(n) – the staff, the people who work in a business, etc

The boss hired a new cashier.

fire(v)- lose your job, your fault

lay off(v)- lose your job, not your fault

In Canada, if you get laid off, you may be eligible for EI.
