Registration for November term, Quarter 2 (Nov-Jan) begins October 14th.

In order to register, you need a recommendation from your teacher.

I will give you a recommendation next Wednesday or Thursday based on quizzes, tests, RW, spoken. Latenesses and absences are problematic.

3.Write in blue or black pen.

4.Indent the first word.

5.Write between the margins.

 

Begin with a topic sentence. It addresses the question.

Question: Why did you move to Canada?

Topic sentence: I moved to Canada for several reasons.

Topic sentence: I moved to Canada because I wanted to help my family.

Be careful of writing off-topic. Stick to the topic.

 

Supporting sentences:

3,4,5 sentences – give reasons, give details

 

 

Concluding sentence- wrap-up, ends the paragraph

e.g. I am glad that we came to Canada.

Thank you Canada for taking us.

Thank you teacher.

 

Sentences: quality of the sentences

The sentences that we have studied so far:

simple   SV   SSV   SVV

compound   SV, SOBA SV.

complex   SV if because when after before SV.

 

**Every sentence has to be one of those. If not, it is not English.

This is our goal to reach proficiency in writing and speaking these sentence types.

 

Verb tenses we have studied so far:

simple present

simple past

simple future

 

You can do an optional RW if you want. Pass it in to me today or first thing tomorrow.
