Spoken/Oral Presentation:

 

Choose one of the topics:

What is your favourite place in your home country?

Who is a person who you know who you look up to?

 

 

There will be two parts to this project:

 

1.    WRITTEN- multi-paragraph- several paragraphs

- 2-3 paragraphs (will teach this week)

-Write about the place or the person.

-Write about your relationship to this place or person.

 

2.    SPOKEN (3-5 minutes)

On your presentation day, you will tell the class about this place or person and your relationship to it or them. You can take a few written notes in case you forget something. However, no reading. Also, please, do not recite a memorized speech.

 

Here are some possible topics to focus on:

Where the place is

When you went there

Who you went with

What the scenery is like

What there is to do there

What your memories are of the place

 

                     Who the person is

Where you knew them

What you did together

What you like about them

What you learned from them

What your memories are of the person

 

 

Step 1- Choose the topic that you would like to talk about. Email the topic by tomorrow 7PM. ahaley@vsb.bc.ca  (1pt)

Step 2= Sign up for a presentation time

Step 3- Begin to brainstorm ideas. Then begin to write.* (some class time)

*You could get ChatGPT to write this for you in .003 seconds. Hopefully, you will take this as an opportunity to do some organized, planning, and writing on your own.ope

FAQ (Frequency Asked Questions)

-Will we do the preparation work in class?

We will take some class time, and you will have to do much of it outside of class.

-Can I show pictures or videos?

Yes, absolutely. Your can use your own computer or use mine. Email the pictures to me before your presentaion.

We can use the LCD projector to project them on the screen.

 

OPTION I can bring in a microphone to use if you would like to. I can show you how to use a microphone.
