Family vocabulary-

-nuclear family- immediate family- parents and children

-extended family- uncles, aunts, cousins, grandparents, second-cousins,

etc

-culturally-based

-matriarch(n)- boss woman in a family

-matriarchal(adj)- led by women

-patriarchal- led by men
