Speaking and listening- focus is on pronunciation

Get into groups of 2,3,4.

Choose one of the words form each group.

Say that word out loud to your partner. -by itself or use it in a sentence

RECOMMEND: Use it in a sentence. Context is helpful for hearing and understanding. i.e. huge VS The elephant is huge.

Your partner will try to detemrine which word you are saying.

Then switch.

Word forms for some adjectives

-ed

-ing

 

interested(adj)- emotion, feeling

interesting(adj)-describing a situation, object, experience outside of ourselves

 

The movie was very interesting. I was very interested.

 

bored/boring   The math class was boring. The students were bored.

fascinated/fascinating  The littl boy is fascinated by trains. Trains are facinating to him.

Raising kids can be very frustrating. Parents are often frustrated.

-ed form – internal experience, emotion, happening inside our mind, heart

-ing – external description, talking about something outside your mind, in the world

Clowns are scaring scary to him.

 

The little kid is frightened of clowns.

Clowns are frightening to him.

 

She was depressed when she lost her job. Losing her job was depressing to her.

 

Cinderella was charmed by Prince Charming. He was very charming.
