What is the difference in meaning?

 

Mei lives in Vancouver. -sounds permanent, going to stay

Mei is living in Vancouver. -sounds temporary, maybe not going to stay

The intention, deeper meaning is a little bit different.

 

Example:

We are studying English at SHEC.*

Which one makes the most sense?

I am teaching at SHEC.
