EF34 12 class- simple present & present progressive

Friday

There will be a subsitute teacher. I will be away. I have a meeting Friday and Saturday with adult educators from all over BC.

You will have a class oon Friday with the other teacher.

I will be back on Monday.

 

 

 

Test#1 – Write a narrative paragraph of 100-125 words. Submit it to me by 12:10.

Double space.

Write in pen.

Choose one:

“Write about a funny thing that happened when you were a kid.”

OR

“Write about your favourite time spent with your friends or family.”

Present progressive verb tense

Write a few (4-5) sentences of your own using simple present and present progressive. Email them to me by 6am tomorrow. We can share them tomorrow.

 

Yesterday- differences between these two verb tenses:

Present progressive

 

These are some of your examples that you wrote for homework:

1.    I usually drop off and pick up my kids at school.

2.    My kids watch TV on weekends, and my son is playing piano right now.

3.    On the way to school, my kids and I pray together, and now we are praying for peace in the world.

 

4.    She sometimes watches movie in the evening, but tonight she is sleeping.

5.    He isn't studying at the moment. He is doing his homework.

6.    I am buying coffee and a muffin from Tim Horton’s.

7.    He is going to work with his coworkers.

8.    I go to my English class by bus. It takes one and half hours from North Vancouver.

9.    I am learning English this year.

10.                       We are playing a new cellphone game.

11.                       I take my phone, and Jenny calls me at the moment. Meaning? 

12.                       Jenny is playing baseball like a pro.

13.                       Sergio and Rodrigo are running in the park.

14.                       Antonio is cooking dinner.

15.                       Usually, she drinks warm milk.

16.                       She is drinking hot milk.

17.                       We dance on  New Year Eve.

18.                       I am going to dance on New Year’s Eve.

19.                       She is cooking dinner while her children are watching TV.

20.                       I am driving slowly because the road is so slippery.

 

21.                       It is snowing, so the kids are very excited to play outside.

22.                       I am writing sentences about present continuous. 

23.                       My husband is taking a shower.

24.                       Mahak is eating a tomato.

25.                       The glass broke, and I am sweeping it up.

26.                       Usually I wake up at 7 am.

27.                       We go to Cypress mountain every weekend.
