EF6 8:30 April12

 Good morning, everyone.

We will get started at 8:30.

Today’s agenda

1. Review Quiz#6 sentence combining

2. Continue “Literary Terms”

3. “Roses Sing on New Snow”

Our goal: To write sentence that are authentic English.

authentic English – follows English grammar

- follows the structures of the sentence styles

(simple, compound, complex, compound-

complex)

- sounds like the kind of sentence that a native-

  speaker would use.

For some people, their experience of using English is mostly in a classroom.

If you want to learn to swim, you have to jump into the pool (start into the shallow end with the kids).

If you’re scared of using English, stay home and hide under the bed.

I’m encouraging you, not trying to scare you.

FREE ADVICE #4: Join a club or sports team where people use English as the main English.

The people who learn English well are the people who use it socially on a daily basis.

Covid has messed everything up.
