English Foundations 5/6

8:30-12:00, 3.5 hours a day

Regular classes from September to June, 2.25 hours per day

working hard but stay relaxed

BC Day- Holiday, no school August 5th, Monday

24 classes in total * 3.5 hrs = 84 hrs for the summer

Foundations 7 is for students who have finished high school here or in another place.

English 10 level is for students who have not graduated from high school anywhere

Writing
It is absolutely essential  to be able to write good sentences. They don't have to be fancy.
SIMPLE, COMPOUND, COMPLEX

Paragraphs - structure and process, 6-8 sentences on a single topic

Essays - multiple-paragraphs, 4-6 paragraphs on a single topic. FOCUS on 5-paragraph essays, high school, college, university -basic model of an academic essay

Quizzes                         - 3 pts each
Tests (paragraph)          - 7 pts each
Essay 1-2                      - 10 pts each
REWRITE (optional)   - 1 bonus pt each
Spoken mark in-class   - 20 pts
