if - maybe yes, maybe no, situation, condition

since- 2 meanings, time, reason

I have lived in Vancouver since 2016. SIMPLE
I have lived in Vancouver since I moved to Canada in 2016. COMPLEX

She is carrying an umbrella since it is raining.

ever since- time (feels like a long time)
subtle difference from since

We would been here since we started at 1:30.
We would been here ever since we started at 1:30.

She has been waiting for the bus ever since she got to the bus stop at 2:15.

when / while
