E12 ellipsis and square brackets

... ellipsis

..... NOT ENGLISH!!!!!!! ,etc

...
She had a "good strong figure, ruddy cheeks, hair that was changing form brown to gray, and a determined face."

She had a "good strong figure... and a determined face." SHOWS WORDS WERE CUT, STILL HAS BE GRAMMATICAL
She had a "good strong figure... determined face." NO GOOD

She had "never thought of marrying" and was "quite alone in the world".
She had "never thought of marrying... [and was] quite alone in the world".

She had "never thought of marrying... [but did not] regret it".
SQUARE BRACKETS MAKE THE SENTENCE GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT

She was completely unprepared to deal with the children as their needs were "wholly unexpected" by her.

IF POSSIBLE, STAY AWAY FROM ... []
SHORTER IS BETTER
