INCORPORATE
QUOTED MATERIAL
In
my college classroom, there are two curriculums at play interacting with
each other XXX at all times. The first is the explicit curriculum, which is dictated
by dentists and other dental professionals practitioners in the dental industry. They demand certain specific skills form CDAs
that graduate from VCC.
Also
is the implicit curriculum, where I try to develop the self and spirit of my
students. My job is to “protect and nourish students’ growth” (Joseph 2011, p113)
while they are learning specific practical skills. I strive to “guide… rather
than direct” their learning. This is often called ‘guide on the side’ rather ‘sage
on the stage’ teaching.
I
am interested in “protect[ing] and nourish[ing] students’ growth” in the
classroom. CLUNKY, NOT BEAUTIFUL
I
want to “protect and nourish students’ growth” in the classroom.
