This is the Period 3 (4-6:15 am) class for these courses:

problem with masks – can’t see our faces, lose a lot of non-verbal communication- facial expressions, lip reading

 

This is the reason that talking on the telephone is not easy.

Sometimes we can get a rash on our face from wearing a mark.

rash- irritated red skin

Babies get rashes from diapers.

 

Regularly spray your hands with the spray bottle.

Spray and wipe your desk.

 

Wash your hands all the time.

Our skin gets dry. We have to use moisturizer.

 

 

 

 

What do you like to do for fun in Vancouver?

 

Running- Stanley Park

He goes running around Stanley Park.

Stanley Park is in the West End.

 

The three big mountains are called Mount Seymour, Grouse Mountain, and Cypress Mountain. These are the Northshore Mountains.

 

The four directions: NORTH EAST SOUTH WEST

 

In Vancouver, the mountains are always north.

The Northshore Mountains- Mount Seymour, Grouse Mountain, Cypress Mountain.

Grouse Mountain has the gondola. You can go sightseeing. Also, you can skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. You can also go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. Snowshoeing is like hiking on the snow.

VOCAB sightseeing- looking around at scenery, trees, lakes, city

Where are some places tourists go sightseeing in Vancouver?

-Gastown-the Steam Clock

-Chinatown

-the Olympic torch

-Canada Place

-the Seawall

People walk, run, cycle, and rollerblade around the Seawall.

Many people go hiking in the Northshore Mountains. Hiking is walking up a mountain.

The mountain is steep.

Grouse Mountain has the Grouse Grind.

You will have sore legs for a few days.

There is a lot to do in nature in BC. Go out and enjoy nature.

 

In the wintertime, you can go skiing, snowboarding, or snowshoeing. You can also go sledding or tubing.

If you like hiking, you’ll like snowshoeing.

You can also go skating.

A snowmobile goes on the snow. A motorcycle goes on the road.

 

In the summertime, you can go walking or hiking. In the summer, you can go camping. You can sleep in a tent in a sleeping bag.

You can see wildlife. Be careful of bears and coyotes.

Coyotes live in Vancouver.
