Friday, November 27 is a Professional Development day for Adult Educators. We will not have class together. We’ll have our regular class on Monday.

1. Email protocols

- Subject line: Name, Class EF5, 8:30 = P1, Quiz#1

P1= Period 1

Subject line: Quiz

Name? Class? Time? Which quiz?

If your subject line does not have the information, I will put it to the bottom of the pile. I can’t spend time emailing back and forth to get this information.

2. Document protocol

protocol = standards, routines. procedures

Font size = 14-16 font size

This is too small. I can’t read this.

Write the tests in Googledocs. Download the documents to your computer.

Another challenge is some of our classmates are not very comfortable using computers. This is all new to them. We are all learning. Hopefully, with practice, this will all become easier in time.

Free advice #4: Set up some folders in your computer that are just for South Hill classes.

Some people are asking for more time for quizzes and tests.

Yesterday’s quiz – 25m

Paragraph – 40m

I can give more time.

I will give more time for quizzes and tests. No lates.

I don’t have an easy solution for that.

If you need a class with no deadlines for quizzes and tests, then self-paced might be a better choice.

I will give more time for quizzes and tests, an extra 10m.

Free advice #5: You should become more comfortable with computers, not just phones.

-email

-attachments

-file folders

-learn how to type half decently, free typing program

Partial solution is to give a bit more time for quizzes and tests.
