PREWRITING - planning, organizing
1. Read the question. E12: Read the question five times. Read every word. What is the teacher asking you to do?
2. Generate some ideas. Brainstorm, list, mindmap, keywords.
Getting vocabulary flowing. Wake up your dormant (sleeping) vocab.
3. Put 3-4 points into order. TIME, SPACE, IMPORTANCE

WRITING - writing sentences
4. Rough copy. Begin with a topic sentence. The topic sentence will mirror the question- same vocab, synonyms
e.g. "Why did the boys not harvest the pheasants?"
Simple Topic Sentence:    The boys did not harvest the pheasants for three reasons.
There are several reasons why the boys didn't slaughter/kill/take the wild pheasants.

PLOT It was raining ice rain, and the windows were covered with ice. The boys went down the road looking for pheasants.
