1. while I eat lunch
I like to read a book while I eat lunch.

They traveled a lot before they had any children.

modal- used to, can, could, should

They wanted to travel around the world before they had any children.
They always gave parenting advice before they had any children.

3. whenever it snows
I like to go skiing whenever it snows.
I stay home whenever it snows.
I don't drive my car whenever it snows.
Whenever it snows, Vancouver has terrific traffic trouble.

4. although we left at seven o'clock
Although we left at seven o'clock, we were still late.
Although we left at seven o'clock, we arrived ten minutes late.
Although we left at seven o'clock, we were on time.
Although we left at seven o'clock, we arrived in the nick of time. IDIOM almost late, but not late

5. when her dog ran away
When her dog ran away, she was ADJ.
When her dog ran away, it went to the off-leash dog park.

6. because you are friendly
Because you are friendly, people like you.
You always have a lot of friends because you are friendly with everyone.
You like to talk to people on the bus because you are friendly.

7. until the store opened
I was waiting outside until the store opened.
There were not many people walking on the street until the store opened.
The guards kept the crowd back until the store opened.

8. unless Kate can fix the car
The car won't start unless Kate can fix it.
We won't be able to go anywhere unless Kate can fix the car.
Unless Kate can fix the car, we won't be able to go to the Black Friday sale.

9. as soon as he finishes his homework
As soon as he finishes his homework, he watches TV.
He goes out to play soccer as soon as he finishes his homework.

10. since she moved to Alberta
Since she moved to Alberta, she feels lonely.
She bought a pickup truck and a cowboy hat since she moved to Alberta.
