A few people have asked me about rewriting quizzes. I offer one replacement quiz for anyone who would like to do that.

This week, you will have an opportunity to replace one of the quizzes that you wrote. This is optional. 

Email me by tomorrow by 7PM which quiz you would like to replace.

Make sure you use a proper Subject line in your email:

 

Name, Class, Time, Replacement quiz.

e.g. Hi Al,

I want to replace Quiz#2.

You have 24 hours to send the email. I will not accept late emails.

 

We have done five quizzes:

You can replace one of those quizzes if you wish. You choose which one.

The replacement quiz will be a new quiz. The replacement quiz will be a mix of all of the sentence styles. You will do the replacement quiz during regular class time, as usual. We will do it Thursday.

Later in the term, we will do a replacement test as well. We haven’t done any tests yet. We will do our first test next week. Tests will be writing paragraphs. We will start learning how to write paragraphs this week.

In general, EF34 students often find adjective clauses to be tricky.

If the sentence does not begin with a capital letter, it’s not going to pass.

These are essential to know. You have to be able to write sentences well so that you can write paragraphs, essay, letters, papers, reports, books, etc.

I hope you are practicing these. You should practice these. You will need them.

Tests will be paragraphs. When you write paragraphs. I expect to see a mix of all of the kinds of sentences- simple, compound, complex.

 

We will begin paragraph writing tomorrow. Good paragraphs depend on good sentences. You must be able to write good sentences in order to write good paragraphs.

The internet is not going away! We have to teach out children to cope with how to use the internet. It is a balance. Do parents have time to teach their children?

 

Communication with children is very important.
