Forms of Simple Sentences
Types of sentences:

Simple sentences are the most important kind of sentence in
English.
Every simple sentence has at least one subject and at least
one verb.
e.g. Sarah plays
soccer.
IMPORTANT- Every sentence that you write has to have a
subject and a verb. Every sentence begins with a capital letter. Every sentence
ends with a period or question mark
In English Foundations 12 and Speaking/Listening 12, we
learn three types of simple sentences.
The three types of simple sentences are SV, SSV, and SVV.
SV = subject +
verb
Sarah plays
football.
SSV = subject and
subject+ verb
Sarah and Michelle play football.
SVV = subject + verb
and verb
Sarah plays
football and does yoga.
We will learn and practice these types of simple sentences for
the next while.
