You got an email from the school at 9am.

You can register for the February quarter.

You can register for the course that we discussed at out midterm meeting. You got a slip of paper with the information.

Let’s try to register now. I will come around and help. Ask your classmate.

You need your PEN (Personal Education Number).

When you successfully complete your registration, you will get an email from the school.

Reminder: I will teach P1 and P2 EF7/English 10 in Quarter 3. Maybe see you another time.

 

What did you do over Winter Break?

 

My family and I went to a Christmas party.

I was working every day. past progressive- EF3/4

I worked every day. simple past – EF12

He worked night-shift. at night

He worked day-shift. in the day

He worked graveyard-shift. midnight to 6am

midnight- 12am

 

I went to my friend’s house. We watched fireworks.

 

I did not do anything special. It was just like always.

My daughter did not drive to my house. It was snowy.

I had a holiday alone.

 

I had guests from Germany. I was mostly at home. They were in my house for ten days.

 

I visited my friend in Vancouver. We went to an Arabic restaurant. It was good.

 

I worked every day. I delivered food for UberEats.

 

My parents visited us. They stayed at our house. We played cards a lot.

 

I was very busy. My husband’s friends came. I cooked. We played dominos. We went to a restaurant. We went for walks.

I called my Chinese friends on New Years. We talked with each other.

Where is your daughter?

 

I went to a Christmas party. A fire magician put on a show. He spit fire from his mouth.

 

People swam in the ocean in English Bay on January 1st. This was the Polar Bear Swim.

 

People in Japan swim in the winter. It is good for the veins in their heart.

VOCAB vein- a small blood vessel (tube)

artery- a large blood vessel

 

I can feel my heart beat. I know I am alive.

 

A blood vessel can be blocked. It can cause a stroke.

 

Some people like to go from a hot sauna to a cold plunge in water.

 

I finished swimming. I will go to the hot tub for about thirteen minutes. I will go to the sauna for ten minutes.

Is a hot tub healthy?
