Eng11 Sentence combining practice

Ricky heard his mother calling him in with a voice that sounded colder than the winter wind.

He turned reluctantly from the frozen white walls that he had made and looked hopefully to the back door; his cheeks were red from hours of play, and his nylon snowsuit was a shade darker from the melted snow.

No reprieve came, so he waved to his day-long companion, the snowman, and began the 50-foot trek to his house; he prolonged every step to take last glimpses of his empire.

He dragged his black galoshes heavily through the snow and thought of the day's fun, the snowballs thrown and the territories conquered. SIMPLE
